After retiring, Kobe Bryant established Granity Studios, a production company focused on creating compelling content that resonated with his passion for storytelling and inspiring the next generation of people.
In an interview with Alex Rodriguez, Kobe Bryant was asked what kind of people and characteristics he looked for when hiring for his company. Kobe said, "The most important thing is curiosity first. I want curious people who ask questions and want to figure things out and find new ways to do things. And then from that curiosity, having the determination to see that curiosity through and to figure out those steps."

Sports, education, business, and life itself are hard and full of challenges and obstacles. You either let those challenges and obstacles stop you, or you get curious and try to figure out how to beat them. You either stop when it gets hard, or you have the determination to keep going, keep pushing, and keep fighting.
One thing that can help is identifying the Next Best Thing. If you try to climb Mount Everest and look up from the bottom, it can seem like an impossible task. But if you can determine, with curiosity, what the next best step is, you can find your way to the top.
But you have to make sure curiosity and determination can beat fear and procrastination.
